Green ID Founder, David Byrnes

Backed by 30 years of experience, David Byrnes is dedicated to keeping on top of new technologies and research in building science for the benefit of his clients. When Green ID was founded, David performed all of the audits, installations and administrative work himself (sometimes he still does!). As the company quickly grew by word of mouth, David's high standards managed to remain a cornerstone of the company. David is an active committee member with the U.S. Green Building Council, Phoenix, Arizona chapter, a proud member of Local First Arizona, contributes to Home Energy Magazine and BPI.org and serves as Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Technical Committee. Outside work, you can find him running the canal paths and local trails. His longest run was a 250 mile race from Black Canyon City to Flagstaff that took 4 days on 5 hrs of sleep.

He is Lead and EPA Universal Certified and Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certified. David holds a Masters of Science degree from the University of Arizona in Chemical and Environmental Engineering.

Every Green ID team member is well trained and certified for the service they perform, receiving weekly in-house training from David and manufacturer’s representatives. They are fully prepared to analyze and respond to the needs expressed in your residential energy audit. Our team includes Licensed & NATE certified heating and cooling technicians, BPI-Certified Building Analysts, LEED Accredited Professionals (AP), and Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Raters & Engineers.
